Update on Retirement Decision Timeline from Jason Kelce
In the offseason, the Philadelphia Eagles have a lot of questions to answer. Center Jason Kelce remains the subject of one significant unanswered question. Is he going to retire or come back for his fourteenth season?
On whether Kelce has taken his last NFL snap, there has been a lot of conjecture. Numerous media sources said that following the Wild Card loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Kelce informed his teammates he would be hanging up.
The 36-year-old hasn’t released an official statement in response to the rumors. Kelce has been to every Chiefs postseason game over the past few weeks in order to support his brother Travis.
The seven-time Pro Bowl selection will now deliberate over his future plans for some time. As per NBC Sports Philadelphia’s John Clark, Shaquille O’Neal was informed by Kelce that “he will take a few weeks and decide whether he will retire or not.”
After the Buccaneers’ defeat, Clark continued, Kelce was overcome with emotion and hesitated to make a snap judgment.
For more than ten years, the Cincinnati native has served as an anchor for Philadelphia in the interior of the offensive line. Because of their ability to communicate with the quarterback and the entire offensive line, a top-notch center is an asset to any offense.
Kelce didn’t appear to regress in 2023. With a PFF rating of 80.6 at the end of the year, he only gave up one sack.
