Eagles player embroiled in a nasty online feud “(He) mentioned my deceased teammate.”
Defensive tackle Jalen Carter of the Eagles sobbed on the sidelines on December 3 during their Week 13 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. On Tuesday, he gave an explanation for his emotional state.
Carter shared photos showing 49ers offensive guard Jon Feliciano criticizing fellow player Spencer Burford for failing to block a shot during their team’s Super Bowl defeat to the Chiefs. Carter also claimed Feliciano had made offensive remarks during their rivalry.
Carter remarked, “SMH, the same guy who talked about my deceased buddy and the reason I was emotional throughout our game.
Police claim that on January 15, 2023, Carter was racing Georgia staffer Chandler LeCroy when she crashed, killing both her and her passenger, offensive lineman Devin Willock of Georgia. Carter entered a no contest plea in March to misdemeanor charges of racing and reckless driving. He was given a 12-month probationary period, a $1,000 fine, 80 hours of community service, and the requirement to finish a state-approved driving course.
In the first round of the 2023 draft, with the ninth pick overall, the Eagles selected Carter, whose character was called into doubt during the pre-draft process and ultimately led to his decline on the boards.
In response to Carter’s assertions, Feliciano gave his version of events.
Feliciano stated on X, “Dude told me he was gonna murder me and my kids.” Would never see me again three times since, after receiving a flag, I was making fun of him. I said, “I think you have a body.” Then he kept messaging my pals and posting pictures of my family for weeks at a time.
“If you dish it, you gotta be able to take it,” Feliciano continued. I brought up my kids when he was talking about them. An accident claimed a buddy of mine.
