DEFENDER TAYLOR SEALS BLACKBURN ROVERS RETURN

Blackburn Rovers have completed the signing of young defender Emma Taylor on a free transfer.

FAWSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from the Lancashire club this morning.

Taylor previously spent her early years in the Blackburn Rovers academy system before later going on to represent both Liverpool and Manchester United’s academy sides. The defender made 15 appearances for The Red Devils in the WSL Academy League last season while she scored two goals. Taylor also made 18 appearances for Burnley in all competitions after joining the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division club on a dual-registration basis. She scored twice for The Clarettes.

The youngster brings quality to both boxes. Taylor is strong in her own box while she has proved that she has a keen eye for the opposition goal when getting on the end of set-pieces.

Blackburn Rovers head coach Simon Parker has now signed five players in the summer transfer window. In addition to Taylor, the Lancashire club have also signed Chloe Williams, Niamh Murphy, Tyler Toland and Georgia Walters.

Parker’s new-look Blackburn Rovers side are scheduled to kick-off the new season with a fixture against Birmingham City at Ewood Park on Saturday 26 August 2023.
