Heather and Derek Carr are long-term players.
After getting married to Heather (née Neel) in June 2012, the quarterback for the New Orleans Saints has welcomed four children into their union.
Derek, who would go on to become a big star in the NFL, was a collegiate player for the Fresno State Bulldogs when they first got together. Derek walked inside the restaurant where Heather worked as a waiter and attended the same institution.
Since then, Derek has known he can count on Heather and their kids to be there for him when they watch from the sidelines. The NFL quarterback has stated that his family would always come first, even though his career will always be important to him.
“I’m going to be a husband, a father, and a brother a lot longer than I’m going to be a quarterback,” he said to ABC7 in 2013. They’re going to take away my jersey someday.”

In 2009, Derek enrolled as an early-entry freshman at California State University, Fresno, where his brother David had previously studied. Heather was also a student there at the same time.
According to Heather, she first saw Derek at the steakhouse where she was employed, in an interview with ABC7. He questioned her, as a pick-up line, why she was wearing only one earring, even though she knew she was wearing two, which made her check her ears, she claimed.
“I wanted to show her off to my friends because she was so beautiful,” Derek recalled from their initial encounter to the source. “I asked her if she could come pick me up.” “They wouldn’t accept my story. I’ve sent this girl an SMS. She is so lovely. I will wed this girl. They would also make fun of me. Not even one of us had gone out yet.
