Arsenal have reportedly received an offer from Nottingham Forest to sell Nuno Tavares in this transfer window, as

per the transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The Gunners have been very busy this summer and have already purchased Jurrien Timber, Declan Rice, David Raya

and Kai Havertz by spending over £200m.

It has been suggested that Mikel Arteta wants to add more firepower before the end of this window and signing a new

defender is on his agenda after Timber’s unfortunate injury issue.

However, it has been reported that the North London club won’t be able to make any more new signings unless they

raise funds by selling some players.

Arteta has reportedly decided to transfer-list Nicolas Pepe, Albert Sambi Lokonka, Folarin Balogun, Tavares, Kieran

Tierney and Rob Holding, while Arsenal have already sold Granit Xhaka to Bayer Leverkusen and Matt Turner to

Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal to sell Tavares

Writing on Twitter, Romano has reported that having already purchased Turner from Arsenal, Forest are looking to

sign another player from the North London club and Tavares is now on their wish-list.

The journalist further claims that Steve Cooper’s side have already submitted an official proposal to acquire the

Portuguese’s service and they are also in contact with the player to reach an agreement regarding the personal terms.

Romano wrote:

“Nottingham Forest submit formal proposal to sign Arsenal left back Nuno Tavares on permanent deal.

Forest trying top signing as new fullback as negotiations are still ongoing also on player side. Deal on.”

Arsenal signed the 23-year-old back in 2021 from SL Benfica in a £7m deal but he failed to showcase his best in the

Premier League for the Gunners.

After being left unimpressed by his displays in his debut campaign at the Emirates Stadium, Arteta opted to send the

Portuguese out on loan to Olympique de Marseille last summer.

He enjoyed a promising campaign in Ligue 1 last term, scoring six goals in 31 appearances. Therefore, it appears

Tavares’ performances for Marseille have attracted the attention of Forest so they have decided to make a concrete

approach to sign him.

Arsenal should clear out their squad as soon as possible before re-focusing on signing more new players as the

transfer deadline is approaching very fast and they will not have enough time to add more firepower if they take too

long to sell players.
