After losing its top four receivers this season, Virginia Tech’s wide receiver room will undergo a transformation in 2025. They received commitments from Wake Forest transfer Donavon Greeneits and Tennessee transfer Cameron Seldon via the transfer portal on Friday night. During the fourth quarter of the Navy All-American Bowl at the Alamo Dome in San Antonio on Saturday afternoon, the Hokies secured a significant commitment in the Class of 2025.

WR Class of 2025 Virginia Tech is Cameron Sparks’s commitment. Cameron Sparks, a three-star athlete from Chattanooga, Tennessee, chose Virginia Tech over Mississippi State and Arkansas. The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Sparks will be a wide receiver when he arrives in Blacksburg. He is the 22nd-ranked player in Tennessee and the 60th-ranked athlete in the Class of 2025, per 247Sports. According to their 247Sports Composite Ranking, he is Tennessee’s 12th-ranked player and 18th-ranked athlete.

Sparks said during the NBC broadcast that he feels at home in the Hokies system under offensive coordinator Tyler Bowen and that Virginia Tech is like family. His route running and size stand out, which the Hokies sorely need, according to the NBC broadcast as well.

It should come as no surprise that Sparks brought up Fontel Mines in addition to Pry and Bowen. Over the past two cycles, Mines has been one of Pry’s most important recruiters, and Sparks is the most recent to bring up the well-liked coach. Sparks and his classmate Micah Matthews have the potential to be a young, strong team that breaks news early. This is a significant acquisition for Virginia Tech going forward.
