Transfers of Big Ten Starting Cornerbacks to College Football Postseason Teams
Kyndrich Breedlove, a cornerback, is one of 31 players that left the Purdue Boilermakers through the transfer portal this offseason. Along with former teammate Nyland Green, he transferred to the Arizona State Sun Devils on Monday. Twelve players are joining the Big 12 champions, while 16 players are leaving through the transfer portal. During the previous season, Breedlove started every game for the Boilermakers. Following a redshirt sophomore season with the Colorado Buffaloes, he transferred to Purdue. Ole Miss was where he played his first two seasons. In 2024, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound corner had three interceptions, four passes defended, and 40 tackles. He was ranked No. 527 in the 2021 recruiting class and chose Ole Miss over offers from North Carolina, Georgia, LSU, Texas A&M, and a number of other schools.
According to On3Sports, Arizona State has the 38th-best transfer portal class. The corrected NIL value has increased by $778K.
The Sun Devils’ 2025 recruiting class is ranked No. 46, with tight end AJ Ia (ranked 329th nationally) and athlete Cameron Dyer (ranked No. 224 overall) standing out. Following his signing of a new contract, Arizona State announced on January 7 that quarterback Sam Leavitt would remain with the program. Leavitt was given no NIL cash value, but On3Sports calculated his worth to be $3 million.
Arizona State had an 11-3 record at the end of 2024. The Sun Devils lost to the No. 5 seed Texas Longhorns 39-31 in the first round of the College Football Playoffs after defeating Iowa State in the Big 12 Championship.
