After a run in the College Football Playoff, the Texas Longhorns are entering their second season in the SEC. Texas ended the season with a 7-1 SEC record and a 13-3 overall record. They lost to the national champion Ohio State Buckeyes in the CFP semifinal at the Cotton Bowl and to the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC Championship Game.

After the season, quarterback Quinn Ewers and two other important Longhorns players declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Trey Moore, the team’s star linebacker, declared he would skip the draft and play his second season in Texas despite a few losses. “Run it back,” Moore said.

In 2021, Moore enrolled at UTSA to start his college career. From 2021 to 2023, he played for UTSA for three years. Moore’s first year with the Longhorns and his first year in his Power Four came during the 2024 college football season. Moore recorded one pass deflection, three forced fumbles, 5.5 sacks, and 36 tackles after joining the SEC powerhouse.

Moore assisted Texas in winning six rated games against Arizona State, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M, Michigan, Oklahoma, and Clemson. Texas will now get ready for their rematch against Ohio State in Week 1 of the 2025 college football season.
