Given that Manchester United and Arsenal have already passed Liverpool in the standings for the Premier League title this season, Jurgen Klopp will be overjoyed.

As they attempted to squeak into the top four last season, Liverpool embarked on an extraordinary run. Even so, they finished fifth, four points behind Newcastle United, as a result of some dismal early-season performances.

The Reds were also unable to add any significant awards to their collection as they were eliminated in the fourth round of the FA Cup, the Carabao Cup, and the Champions League against Real Madrid.

This summer, Liverpool underwent significant midfield changes as they sought to regain the Premier League’s top spot. Among the midfielders who have gone are Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, and Naby Keita; their replacements are Dominik Szoboszlai, Alexis Mac Allister, Wataru Endo, and Ryan Gravenberch.

Mo Salah, Liverpool’s talisman, might have left the club in the wake of a massive £150 million offer from Al Ittihad. But that was rejected since Salah cannot be lost under any circumstances, according to the Anfield management.

Jermaine Pennant, a former Liverpool winger, believes that keeping Salah is the primary reason why Liverpool will once again challenge City for the Premier League championship, with Arsenal behind marginally. Meanwhile, Pennant believes that Man Utd has no chance of finally winning the trophy.

“Top four is the minimum [expectation]. On talkSPORT, Pennant stated, “The way we have started so far is ten times better than how Liverpool started last season.

“They seem sturdy. A little concerned about the defense, but they are strong going forward.

Staying at Liverpool would benefit everyone if Mo Salah did.

The midfield is currently quite strong. [Dominik] Szoboszlai is young and attractive.

“Keeping Mo will be beneficial for everything related to Liverpool as well as for the club itself.

The players will recognize Mo there and are aware of his offer. They should now be hoping to fight Manchester City like they have for the last five years, excepting last season, with goals, assists, and his continued presence there.

“Right now, Liverpool is in a better position than Arsenal, in my opinion. They’ve played a lot better than Arsenal in the games they’ve played so far, in my opinion.

Michael Arteta is still fine-tuning… He is making an effort to integrate new teammates.

Manchester United should be written off because they are everywhere. Liverpool, in my opinion, is the superior squad and would be the odds-on favorite in a matchup with Arsenal.

Given the standings, it makes sense that Liverpool supporters would be anticipating this season. They have won three of their first four games, remaining unbeaten in the league.

The matchup versus Tottenham in North London on September 30 is one match to keep an eye on. Ange Postecoglou has Spurs on fire, so a high-caliber match appears to be in store.

Prior to that, Liverpool will play LASK in the Europa League, West Ham in the league, Wolves in the Carabao Cup, and Leicester City in the league.
