Tennis balls were thrown onto the playing field by READING FC supporters during their match against Bolton Wanderers as a way of expressing their rage towards club owner Dai Yongge.

Tennis balls were thrown onto the playing field by Reading supporters in the 16th minute of the game as they raucously yelled in opposition to the owner.

Since Dai Yongge acquired control of the team in 2017, the Royals have been subject to ongoing sanctions.

Under the present ownership, Reading has lost 16 points altogether, including deductions for their previous three campaigns.

Reading was demoted from the Championship and is now competing in the third division for the first time in more than 20 years after incurring a six point punishment last season.

“The feeling is great. It is difficult to keep up the performance for over 100 minutes, but we were there for a big part of the game. We were able to turn the game to our side. We worked as a team, as a unit… that’s what we demand.

“We work on it, and we know exactly what every player can bring on the pitch. The good thing is that they have a great relationship in the dressing room and a big team spirit inside. That is why we can go through everything that is in front of us and compete against any player.

“We try to be confident because of the things we do daily, because of routines and the way that we play. I have seen this group playing, training and competing and it doesn’t matter who is in front, they want to win. Some days we are better than others where we are still growing, but our strength is in us – the way we do things and the way we want to go and beat the opponent.
