Sheffield Wednesday have already found Munoz replacement, claims reporter

Sheffield Wednesday are searching for a new manager, and according to Alan Nixon, ‘they’ve got somebody’.

 

Sheffield Wednesday sacked Xisco Munoz last night.

The Spaniard leaves after 10 winless games in the Championship, with the Owls rooted to the foot of the

Championship table on just points.

So far this morning, several names have been linked alongside the Hillsborough vacancy including Neil Warnock and

Nathan Jones to name a few.

But according to The Sun reporter Nixon, Wednesday have someone lined up.

Sheffield Wednesday have a Munoz replacement. But who?

The first thing to note form this is that Wednesday and Dejphon Chansiri obviously identified the Munoz replacement before sacking him.

And given the financial turmoil the club is facing with Chansiri pledging to put no additional funds in, we can perhaps safely assume

that it’s an out-of-work manager.

But there’s no guessing who that manager might be. Nixon doesn’t even know yet.

Going off Chansiri’s outbursts this season, it surely can’t be a manager with all that much credibility in the game.

Expect another out-of-work, barely experienced manager like Munoz, when what is actually needed is a name like Warnock or a Steve

Bruce; someone with relevant experience.

But it’ll certainly be interesting to see who comes in, and when, and whether or not they can get Wednesday out of this mess.
