Report: Leeds hopes of keeping 19-year-old handed boost as PL club enquire for £17m Serie A star
Like Gnonto, Iling-Junior is very much a left-sided attacker and so if they were to sign him, there would be no need to continue pursuing the Leeds star.
Everton have already brought in Arnaut Danjuma on a season-long-loan this summer, but it is clear they are wanting to add another option to that side of the pitch.
Since Leeds’ relegation, Gnonto has persistently been linked with a move to Goodison Park, with some reports from Italy having indicated a deal was all but done.
That is not the case, though Everton are said to have seen an offer in the region of £15 million knocked back almost two weeks ago.
At £17 million, Iling-Junior could provide Everton with a cheaper alternative to Gnonto, boosting Leeds’ chances of keeping him.
