Report: Liverpool expected to challenge Spurs for the 25-year-old in January
Football Insider can reveal Liverpool have joined Tottenham in the race for Bournemouth star Lloyd Kelly ahead of the January transfer window.
Multiple media outlets over the past few weeks have revealed that Spurs continue to keep a close eye on Kelly after when an agreement could not be reached with this midfielder during the summer transfer window (GiveMeSport).
Last week, Fabrizio Romano revealed that AC Milan and Juventus had also joined the race to sign the 25-year-old.
However, a few days ago, talkSPORT confirmed that Bournemouth do not want to sell Kelly in January even though his current contract at the Vitality Stadium will expire next summer.
It was explained that the Cherries consider the defender to be key in helping them preserve their Premier League status and are thus ready to risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

Football Insider have now named Liverpool as Spurs’ main competitor for Kelly’s signature in January.
The report states that Jurgen Klopp’s men are keen on signing a versatile defender in the winter and have now identified the Cherries star as a target.
It is alleged that Kelly’s ability to play at centre-back and left-back appeals to the Merseyside club, who are said to be aware that there is ‘huge interest’ in the player across the Premier League.
Bournemouth’s preference would be to hang on to Kelly as preserving their top-flight status would be the South Coast club’s priority.
However, the centre-back’s head might be turned by the interest and it remains to be seen if the Cherries would want to keep hold of an unhappy player.
