Alex Anzalone Doubtful Against Saints

Lions release their Week 13 Friday injury report.

The Detroit Lions may be without the presence of one of their defensive captains Sunday, as linebacker Alex Anzalone has been ruled doubtful.

If he misses the game, the Lions will be tasked with slowing down the New Orleans Saints with rookie Jack Campbell and third-year linebacker Derrick Barnes operating the defense.

It would mark the first time Campbell has been in this role since being drafted. Additionally, playing at Caesar’s Superdome offers a unique challenge for its reputation of being one of the loudest NFL stadiums.

The Lions have lost one game on the road this season and have taken pride in their performance away from home.

“I think just, the pressure of it. Being able to stay consistent and just stay calm. Stay poised in the moment, I think that’s what we’ve done a really good job of. We don’t ride the roller coaster on the road, which is the most important thing,” Dan Campbell said. “Communication, keeping your composure and then just staying consistent in the moment.

“Some of these things, it’s inevitably what happens. You get in a stressful environment and a player will crack or a couple of things show up,” Campbell explained further. “Our guys, just focus on your job at hand. focus on the moment, don’t worry about what just happened, what’s gonna happen after this play, just stay there and don’t get too high or too low. Shoot, there may be a turnover, just put it behind you and go to the next play. We’ve done a good job of that.”
