Charlton Athletic interim boss gives injury update on Ipswich loan man Panutche Camara
Last night, Charlton Athletic lost the EFL Trophy match 4-3 at League Two team Crawley Town.
It was again another terrible defensive performance from Charlton Athletic, who are still without a permanent manager after Dean Holden was fired last month.
The Addicks took the lead twice in the game but conceded two second half goals to eventually lose 4-3, handing the London club their sixth defeat of the season so far.
And it was another game which summer signing Panutche Camara missed out.
The midfielder joined on loan from Ipswich Town over the summer and featured in Charlton’s opening five matches, having since missed the last four through a rather unknown injury.
And when asked for an update on the matter, Charlton’s interim boss Jason Pearce said:
“On Pan, there isn’t a lot to say. We still have a little while before the next league match, so I’m hoping he won’t be out for too long. I would hope that he will return, but I am unable to say for sure.
What next for Camara?
Camara looked like a very good signing for Charlton, with the Addicks beating a number of clubs to the signing.
Additionally, the fact that nobody is divulging too much about his current condition makes it seem quite concerning and raises the possibility of a more serious, long-term damage.
Pearce’s remarks imply that it’s not exactly a short-term one, so the club and Camara may have to wait anxiously to learn the full nature of the injury.
Later this month, Charlton will travel to high-flying Stevenage. At the moment, the Addicks are in 16th position in the standings, seven points behind third-place Stevenage.
