Breaking news: The Blues are keen to land another deal from…

‘Best’:
Blues are set to strike a ‘bargain’ in midfield as the award for top-10 selection is due..

Carlton will get a windfall during the trade window if they land former top-10 player Elijah Hollands from the Gold Coast..
Even the Suns have publicly admitted they played the 2020 No.. 7 pick out of position, and he is now said to be likely to move to Princes Park in the next 48 hours..
It will reunite Hollands with his brother, 2022 Blues rookie Ollie, and, according to North Melbourne champion David King, will give the preliminary finalists the best bargains currently available on the market..

“He had to sort out personal issues to ensure he could return to Melbourne.. They’ve now got the go-ahead,” Jon Ralph of the Herald Sun explains on Fox Footy’s Trade Day.. wanted to upgrade one of their picks in the 30s to one of Carlton’s picks in the 20s, they had two..
“So the Suns take $400,000 off their books, they secure their three in the first round next year.. Look, he’s the seventh pick, he’s a excellent encouragement.. He was pushed out of his position on the wing.. However, it won’t get much easier for Carlton to get into that midfield..
But King said:
“He’ll be there, Johnny.. I’m a big fan of this guy..
“You’re right, if he gets kicked out of position, put him in midfield and let him go to work..” Real midfielder died on the wing; it’s just a completely different thing You are in a place where you lack control, all you do is run, either behind the ball or backwards behind it..
Ralph added:
“He ran the elite 2km time trial, he won really well and scored.. He doesn’t want much.. He just needs the chance..
He suggested the Blues could offer pick 26 while still getting pick 38 from Hollands and the Suns..

King replied:
“It was the best thing..
“Of all the players mentioned as these bargains, picks 30 and 40 or whatever, he’s the one that gets picked the most.. » Suns boss Craig Cameron admitted on Monday that the club played Hollands out of position and needed to be “really vigilant with all of our signings going forward” – underlining a desire to lost his salary..
“First of all, to play Elijah (at AFL level), we played him a little bit out of position so we could get him in and play the game.. I think he is more suited to the central position than the wing,” Cameron said on Trade Radio..
“With the arrival of Sam Flanders in the second half of the season, we believe Bailey Humphrey will need more time in midfield and even youngster Alex Davies has developed very well for us – we believe that this land for us is well reserved..
“Elijah probably didn’t take advantage of the opportunity we gave him – although we probably didn’t play him in the position we thought was best for him..”
“I think the other thing – and I’m going to be careful when I say this… we actually made some very difficult decisions to get the TPP (Total Player Payments) to a position where we I really feel comfortable.. .. But I think going forward we have to be very careful with some of the players we have signed, if they don’t meet that level of contract we will have to make some decisions.. We have young emerging talent that will demand certain salaries, you’ve seen what we’ve done over the last few years – quite radically – to get to where we need to be – and we are not doing it.. I don’t want to let this go.. We did so much work to get the position right..
Cameron added:
“Elijah isn’t overpaid, but I think we need to be very careful with all our contracts going forward..”
