David Moyes shares ‘active’ West Ham United transfer update as ‘several offers’ made

David Moyes says West Ham are “quite active” in the summer transfer market and that “several offers” have been made for new signings.

The manager noted that the Hammers have been quiet in the window so far due to their pre-season tour of Australia.

But the boss has emphasised the club’s ambitions to West Ham fans that new players will be signed in the near future.

Because of the shortness of the summer and being in Australia. it’s meant the time has been limited, but I’m sure we’ll get down to work and do what we have to do,” Moyes told Sky Sports.

“The club have made several offers for players, we’re out on the market, we’re quite active, and hopefully some of them will come off in the future.”

West Ham supporters have not had much to cheer about this summer, which is certainly very strange given how they were full of joy at the end of last season.

Not only did the club secure their Premier League safety, but they also created a night fans will never forget by winning the Europa Conference League.

Since then, however, club captain and star midfielder Declan Rice has left the London Stadium for Arsenal.

The only silver lining in that deal is the £105million fee that the Hammers now have in the bank, but so far there has been little movement in terms of using that money to replace Rice.

But now boss Moyes has spoken out about the club’s pursuit of a handful of players, in what is finally some good news for fans, particularly with the new season rapidly approaching.

A Rice replacement is the priority, but the manager also needs to strengthen in various other areas if the Hammers want to compete on all fronts.
