BREAKING: Philadelphia Eagles Get Key Players Off of Injury Report For Sunday Night Game Against Miami Dolphins
The Philadelphia Eagles have one of their toughest tests of the season coming up on Sunday night against the Miami Dolphins. Eagles
fans can take a breath as Philadelphia just took five key players off of the injury report.
According to Adam Schefter, OT Lane Johnson (ankle), TE Dallas Goedert (groin), WR DeVonta Smith (hamstring), DT Jalen Carter
(ankle), and CB Darius Slay (knee) have all been taken off of the injury report. They are all expected to play Sunday night vs. the Miami Dolphins.
Getting Help on Defense
Philadelphia has their hands full on defense as is. That is because the Dolphins lead the NFL in every relevant offensive category. That
includes points per game (37.2), rushing yards per game (181.8), and passing yards per game (316.8).
Slay will be crucial if the Eagles hope to slow down WR Tyreek Hill. Right now, Hill is on pace to have by far his highest receiving
yards per game (135.7) this season.
Hill also has a huge lead for most receiving yards in the NFL (814). Ironically, the next closest wide receiver is A.J. Brown of the Eagles. However, he is well behind Hill with just 672 receiving yards.
Jalen Carter hopes to make an impact on the defensive line. He has two forced fumbles this season along with 3.5 sacks and four tackles for loss.
Having Offensive Weapons
The Philadelphia Eagles will likely face a lot of pressure to keep up offensively with the Dolphins. Luckily, Smith and Goedert can
provide the reinforcements needed.
Smith currently has two touchdown receptions and 334 receiving yards this season. As for Goedert, he has 247 receiving yards and a
touchdown reception.
Lane Johnson also helps strengthen one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. The Eagles have made a 4th and 1 play called the
“Brotherly Shove” or “Tush Push” famous this season. The offensive line has helped them secure a 100% fourth down conversion rate at home.
Betting Implications
At the time of writing, this news has had very little impact on betting lines for this game. The Philadelphia Eagles are still 2.5-point
home favorites. Plus, the Over/Under total still sits at 51.5.
This announcement may convince some bettors to pull the trigger on the Eagles in this game.
