Galatasaray want to sign Rangers star in January, his exit stance has emerged today
According to Sosk, Galatasaray asked Rangers how much they would have to pay to sign Ridvan Yilmaz.
A Turkish newspaper said on Thursday (16 November) that the Super Lig club are aiming to strengthen in the January transfer window by adding “local stars”, including a 22-year-old Gers left-back.
Reported.
However, Yilmaz, who joined the Light Blues from Besiktas in 2022, was said to be “reluctant” to return to Turkey, although he could be persuaded by the lure of Champions League football.
It is unlikely that the Rangers would be interested in releasing Yilmaz unless they receive a reasonable compensation that would allow him to return to Turkey.
He is currently a back-up option for Borna Barisic, but the 31-year-old is not getting any younger and could soon play some minutes at Ibrox.
The decisive factor will depend on whether the Turkish international is willing to bide his time and wait for the opportunity to establish himself in the first team.
There are signs that he could be emerging as a genuine contender to compete with Barisic for a place at left-back after making three starts since Philippe Clement arrived at the club.
But with six weeks still to go until the January transfer window, the situation could still change dramatically to present question marks over whether or not he will complete the season in Glasgow.
