DEAL DONE: Detroit Lions and Jared Goff have successfully AGREES new contract due to…

According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Detroit Lions and quarterback Jared Goff are scheduled to talk about extending his deal, which would make him one of the most paid quarterbacks in the league.

In order to play the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship on Sunday night, Goff and the Lions are now getting ready.

After this season, the 29-year-old quarterback will only have one year left on his contract. He will earn $31.6 million in 2024 before becoming a free agent.

According to Rapoport, “the Detroit Lions never thought he would be the franchise quarterback, always thought he would be a bridge quarterback.”

According to Rapoport, “the Detroit Lions never thought he would be the franchise quarterback, always thought he would be a bridge quarterback.”

According to what I understand, the Lions and Goff’s agent will start negotiating a contract extension this offseason to put him among the highest-paid quarterbacks in the NFL after they advance to the Super Bowl.

Detroit acquired Goff three years ago in a trade with the Los Angeles Rams and many thought he would only have a short-lived tenure as the Lions starter.

Instead, Goff has been at the center of the Lions rebuild over the last several seasons.

The Lions’ 12-5 finish this season is a long cry from their 3-10-1 record from his first season in Detroit.

Throughout his three years in Detroit, Goff’s stats have also increased. He concluded the regular season with 407–605, 4,575 yards, 30 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions.

Supporters of the 2016 No. 1 overall choice in Detroit have united and have even started screaming his name at sporting events all over the state of Michigan.
