DONE DEAL: Fabrizo Romano confirm Kevin De Bruyne to Celtic deal done…

According to Fabrizio Romano, Carl Starfelt will officially join Celtic after Kristoffer Ajer leaves the Hornets.
The writer claims that Kristoffer Ajer is expected to sign a €15 million (£13 million) contract to join Premier League newcomers Brentford. Carl Starfelt, a defender for Rubin Kazan, will replace Ajer in the starting lineup.

The deal is expected to be revealed in the next few days and will cost €5 million (£4.3 million) for the Swedish international.

Since they have been discussed for quite some time, neither move will be shocking.

The Daily Telegraph’s Northern football journalist, John Percy, was the first to announce on July 15th that Brentford and Celtic had agreed on a price for Ajer. The day before, though, Football Insider stated that Rubin Kazan had accepted the Hoops’ £4.3 million offer for Starfelt.
When Starfelt eventually makes it to Celtic, he will be under pressure since he will be taking the place of a player who was a member of the Hoops team that won numerous domestic trophies in Scotland. Nonetheless, he has experience, having played for Rubin Kazan in 42 games during his stay in Russia.

He’s three years Ajer’s senior at 26, and he played for IFK in his home Sweden. Starfelt may need some time to adjust to playing in Scotland, but if he does, he has a good chance of becoming an important member of Celtic’s squad.

He will need to be because the defense appears inexperienced without Ajer. Transfermarkt reveals that Ajer is the only center defender in the Hoops lineup; Christopher Jullien, the most seasoned player, is presently sidelined.

Is Ajer prepared for Premier League success?
Ajer’s tenure at Celtic has undoubtedly been successful.

Ajer was a mainstay for the Bhoys, but it will be a much bigger challenge for him in England. Just like Starfelt, he will need time to settle.

Should he get that time and perform well, then Ajer could well earn a move to a bigger club in the future.
