Done deal: Florida State are set to welcome another familiar face at Campbell Stadium…

Signing Day commences in only a few hours and that means it’s time for the Noles247 staff to log some predictions for where we think Florida State’s remaining targets will end up.

Zach Blostein, Brendan Sonnone and Chris Nee all shared their picks for which programs they think top FSU recruits will sign with on Wednesday.

Zach Blostein’s Prediction: Florida State

Florida State has been the program with the best chance to flip Smith from Ohio State for quite some time but now they need to close. We’ll see how Wednesday unfolds but the intel from early on Tuesday has me picking the Seminoles to sign the top ranked player in the country.

Brendan Sonnone’s Prediction: Florida State

I’ve remained steady in feeling like the Seminoles had a better shot than not to get the country’s No. 1 overall prospect for the last month or so. I won’t count out Miami as a flip candidate, but Ohio State seems to be the top threat here (duh, he’s been committed there for a year). FSU has the lead in visits and he hasn’t been to Ohio State in about two months…FSU has done a great job positioning itself to pull off the flip, and the Seminoles seem to have a legitimate shot here.

Chris Nee’s Prediction: Ohio State

I believe FSU has done everything possible to get the flip commitment here, but I am taking a see it to believe it approach.

Zach Blostein’s Prediction: Florida

I think McCray sticks with his commitment to the Gators — despite much of Florida’s 2024 class falling apart. FSU and Auburn are the other two finalists here and as things stand right now, I think the Tigers have a better shot of flipping his commitment on Signing Day.

Brendan Sonnone’s Prediction: Auburn

I’d be surprised if McCray sticks with Florida as that class has crumbled around him. Maybe FSU pushes, but I think the appeal of playing in the SEC is strong here and that makes me think Auburn has a better shot at the flip than FSU.

Chris Nee’s Prediction: Florida

I think McCray, who took a great deal of time to make his original decision, opts to stick with the nearby Gators.

Zach Blostein’s Prediction: Florida State

My confidence has been lowering in KJ Bolden sticking with Florida State since the beginning of this week with both Auburn and Georgia making a huge push for the five-star prospect. With that said, as of Thursday evening, I’m going to roll with the Seminoles for Bolden. In the week leading up to Bolden’s August commitment, both the Tigers and Bulldogs had a ton of buzz throughout the week but it was the ‘Noles winning out in the end. I’ll predict the same thing to happen this go around.

Brendan Sonnone’s Prediction: Auburn

This recruitment is getting really weird (again) with noise for different schools all over the place. I was steadfast in projecting FSU as the most likely destination back in August, and was kind of alone there. I think FSU still has a decent shot here, but there’s a lot of noise in the system and I feel as least confident in this recruitment as I have in, well, ever.

Chris Nee’s Prediction: Florida State

I know this one has brought plenty of headlines, reporting, and speculation down the stretch. I’m sticking with what FSU did the first time to win a tough battle will allow them to outlast Auburn or Georgia’s final pushes.

Zach Blostein’s Prediction: Florida State

The Seminoles have led for D’Nas White for quite some time and I think his official visit to campus two weeks back sealed it for Florida State to earn his signature on Signing Day.

Brendan Sonnone’s Prediction: Florida State

FSU has been in a good spot with him dating back to June visit for Elite Camp. Two visits since have reinforced the standing of the Seminoles. He becomes an interior addition for FSU.

Chris Nee’s Prediction: Florida State

FSU got the last OV, always a good sign. The Seminoles have been a consistent player in this recruitment.
