Fired Michigan Wolverines Coach Chris Partridge Breaks Silence On Sign-

The shocking reason Michigan football fired assistant coach amid sign-stealing scandal

The Michigan Wolverines football program has been rocked by the sign-stealing scandal. A couple of weeks ago, Jim Harbaugh shockingly accepted his three-game suspension and the university promptly fired linebackers coach Chris Partridge. They gave very little detail as to why and many speculated that it was related to the scandal. Partridge broke his silence Monday in a statement.

Michigan Wolverines Chris Partridge On Sign-Stealing Scandal

In a very lengthy statement posted to social media, Patridge denied knowing about any stealing of signs.

“I want to be clear: I had no knowledge whatsoever of any in-person or illegal scouting, or illegal sign stealing. Additionally, at no point did I destroy any evidence related to an ongoing investigation.”

It was reported that his firing stemmed from a lack of cooperation with the NCAA investigation but that was kept vague. Partridge holds very ill will towards the program saying this in the statement.

“While I am extremely disappointed by the University’s decision to terminate my employment, their decision does not change my continued love and support of Coach Jim Harbaugh, the coaches and the players of Team 144 as they continue on their quest for a National Championship!”

What Will The NCAA Decide?

The Big Ten punishment is now done. Harbaugh served his three-game suspension and is free to coach the team. However, the NCAA investigation is still ongoing. They will have to decide what they are going to do with the program. Most people seem to think that there will be some type of vacated wins and a possible postseason ban but Michigan retains their innocence. We likely will not have any kind of answer until after the season is over.

Partridge may have been a person the NCAA was hoping to get more information out of. However, he seems to stick to the innocence of the program as well. It is yet another wrinkle in this massive scandal.
