Done deal: The Blues are set to welcome another familiar face at Ikon Park…

Austin: Anything is possible

Both Carlton and Brisbane are set to welcome top 2024 draft prospects to their pre-season training programs this summer, with both clubs linked to the talented quartet of teenagers through father-son and academy routes.
There is.
The Blues are set to welcome Glenelg-based pair Ben and Lucas Campoare to Royal Parade in the coming months ahead of a busy draft campaign for the pair.
Carlton premiership player Scott Campoare’s sons Ben and Lucas have links with the Blues and are likely to relocate from South Australia to Melbourne’s north within 12 months.
It will be a busy year for father and son as they have been selected to represent next year’s AFL Academy and will travel together in Glenelg and South Australia in 2024.
The Blues will also spend time training with senior coach Michael Voss at Prince’s Park during pre-season, but they must be aware of the heavy workload that lies ahead of them.
In response to a question from Zero Hunger, list manager Nick Austin said of Carlton’s preseason plans for the Campoale twins: “They’ll definitely be in.
” “Whether it’s before Christmas or in the new year, they always come and spend a week here.
“This is a big year.
They’re in their 12th year with the AFL Academy and they’ll be playing at Glenelg.
” And they will also be playing provincial football in South Africa, so we have to be careful how often we bring them in and how much we put on the table for them.
“If we can get an opportunity that fits their schedule, we’ll definitely try it and support them in that way.
” Ben and Lucas attended the Future Stars Game last September.
, and concluded a promising campaign aimed at younger age groups.
A showcase match featuring top-class 17-year-olds before their draft year.
Ben recorded 8 points, 8 50 rebounds, 50 inside 50, and 30 shots in Team Naitanui’s victory, earning him the title of Most Valuable Player on the Floor.
Lucas was similarly promising with 19 disposals, a mark of 9 for Team Selwood.
When making trade plans this offseason, the Blues’ roster had Camporeale players in mind, both in the mix and as top-20 prospects in 2024.
“They’ve made huge strides this year compared to where they were at the beginning of the year,” Austin added.
“If we do it again, we’ll have to find out where they’re sitting.
” We’ve been focused on the next few quarters of the trading period to prepare for this, but we don’t know how high it will rise.
“Both are running smoothly, so we’ll have to wait and see.

Brisbane are set to welcome their own highly-rated 2024 father-son prospect, Levi Ashcroft, to their own summer training program.

The son of club great Marcus and younger brother to Lions young gun Will, Levi will be joined by Brisbane Academy talent Sam Marshall in training with the AFL squad.

Recruitment manager Stephen Conole confirmed on Tuesday that the teenage duo will make the trip up to Queensland at the cessation of their schooling year.

“They’re both doing Year 11 down here (Melbourne) at the moment, so when those lads finish school they’ll go up and train,” he confirmed.

“They’ll come back for some AFL Academy, but they’ll certainly do a bit over summer.

“We look forward to those boys going through the pre-season.”

Like his brother, Levi Ashcroft is considered a potential first pick and will be one of next year’s top candidates after strong seasons with Sandringham Dragons and Vic Metro.
This inside on-baller will lead the Dragons to back-to-back premierships in the Talent League.
Father and son are poised to make an impressive third consecutive title at the junior track level next year.
Marshall has also been linked with the Dragons and was a talented player in his league during his season in which he appeared in two games.
His best football was displayed at a higher level with Arise, where he won the Premier League and represented Arise twice in 2023.
“What these two kids did at nationals as underclassmen was amazing,” Conor said.
“Levi has had a great year, playing in the Premier League and winning the best and fairest league for the Dragons.
” Sam came to school and showed great progress by playing football for the school, playing for the Dragons and Allies, and joining an (AFL) academy for children who are still developing physically.
.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing what they can do in the next 12 months.
