Wake Forest running back Justice Ellison has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, Demon Deacon Digest has confirmed Tuesday evening. The junior from The Flint Hill School (Asburn, VA) has rushed for nearly 2,000 yards and 15 touchdowns over the last four seasons with Wake Forest — playing in 43 career games.

Ellison was listed as the first-string running back this season, going for 548 yards and one touchdown on 120 carries. He rushed for a career-high 137 yards this season against Georgia Tech, and went for 114 yards and one score on 18 carries in the Demon Deacon 31-21 victory at Florida State last season.

Ellison has played four seasons, but the 2020 Covid-impacted season will not count against his eligibility. He is a Wake Forest graduate and will have one season of eligibility to play elsewhere.

The running back position appears to be in good shape despite the loss of Ellison. Slotting into the first-string role should be the explosive Demond Claiborne, with Tate Carney and David Egbe fighting for the reps behind him.
