Dallas Cowboys Owner Hints Green Bay Packers Could Cause Mike McCarthy To Be Fired

After the Dallas Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders on Sunday to win the NFC East, owner Jerry Jones expressed uncertainty about keeping head coach Mike McCarthy in place. The Cowboys defeated the Washington Commanders to earn the NFC’s second seed.

Next Sunday afternoon, they take on the Green Bay Packers. Furthermore, McCarthy’s departure from Dallas could be sparked by the game against his old squad

The Fort Worth Star-Telegram’s Clarence Hill Jr. claims that reporters questioned Jones over McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys. Jones stated that he will monitor “each game” of the playoffs.

Owner Jerry Jones responded to a direct question regarding Mike McCarthy’s future with the Cowboys by saying, “We’ll see how each game goes” in the postseason

Jones’ remarks are in line with another noteworthy article that was published over the weekend. ESPN’s Adam Schefter said on Saturday that if McCarthy’s squad did well in the postseason, the Cowboys would keep him on

Many in the league, and even those inside the Cowboys organization, still hold the belief that coach Mike McCarthy’s success will be determined by the outcome of Dallas’ last game.

McCarthy stands a great chance of retaining his position should the Cowboys perform well in the postseason. However, if they falter and conclude the campaign with a humiliating defeat, like they have done in the previous two seasons, then some believe Dallas may undergo change

McCarthy and the Cowboys would be embarrassed if they lost to the Packers the following Sunday. The Packers had a poor start to the season before sneaking into the playoffs. The Cowboys ought to be a Super Bowl contender.

Packers supporters, though, have seen this show with McCarthy previously. McCarthy led the Packers to a 125-77-2 record while serving as head coach. 10-8 was his postseason record. Although the numbers aren’t terrible, the Packers’ inability to win playoff games while starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers was so annoying that they cut ties with him following the 2018 campaign

McCarthy’s record with the Cowboys is 42-25 during the regular season, and his winning percentage (.621) is comparable to that of the Packers (.618). However, Jones won’t be content in Dallas given his 1-2 postseason record with the Cowboys (two losses to the San Francisco 49ers)

Will the Packers’ upset of the Cowboys in Dallas the following week contribute to McCarthy’s two firings
