Arizona breaks into the top 5 in the college basketball rankings as Grand Canyon gains momentum.

In the most recent men’s NCAA basketball rankings, which were made public by The Associated Press on Monday, the Arizona Wildcats jumped from eighth to fifth place.

After overcoming Utah in three overtime on Thursday, Arizona (19-5) extended its winning run to five games. On Saturday, they easily defeated  by 20 points.

Tennessee, North Carolina, and Kansas were surpassed by the Wildcats in the rankings.

With a 10-3 record in the Pac-12, Tommy Lloyd’s squad leads second-place Washington State by one game. Washington State is the only other team in the league to be ranked in the top 25. With 82 points, the Cougars sit five spots outside of the top 25.

These other teams are listed in the AP men’s college basketball rankings and have received votes.
