SAD NEWS : Leeds United star issues fresh three-word injury update – facing ‘three to six months’ out…

According to BBC Sport journalist Adam Pope, negotiations with French club Toulouse are back on track, and the defender is now likely to secure his move within this week.

Cresswell looked dead-cert to join the French club but talks broke down over personal terms earlier this week. Several Championship clubs are also interested in signing him.

Pope wrote on X: “I understand Leeds United defender Charlie Cresswell’s move to Toulouse has been revived.

Negotiations restarted to push the deal over the line in the next 48 hours after it broke down over personal terms earlier this week. Championship interest in the centre back too.”

Now, Graham Smyth has shared a detailed update on the situation while writing for Yorkshire Evening Post.

The two clubs initially agreed on a permanent transfer worth around £3.8 million. The 21-year-old homegrown talent was open to the idea of an exit as he was looking for regular game time.

Contrary to Pope’s statement, YEP suggests that finance was not an issue. The player didn’t want to join the French club, and the deal broke off.
