SAD NEWS : Nick Young Makes Controversial Statement About Celtics Winning NBA Title…

The NBA has become a global brand now more than ever.

International players come from overseas to take the game by storm, and not everybody is comfortable with that.

Nikola Jokic, Giannis Antetokounmpo, and Joel Embiid have been the latest MVPs, with Rudy Gobert hoisting most of the Defensive Player of the Year awards.

 

We also have the likes of Luka Doncic, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and now even Victor Wembanyama as some of the faces of the league.

That’s why Nick Young was so relieved to see the Boston Celtics win the NBA championship this season.

In the latest edition of Gil’s Arena, the well-traveled former NBA guard stated that he was so tired of watching international players dominate, adding that the Celtics won ‘for America’ (Via Legion Hoops).

To say that this was a controversial statement would be an understatement, and chances are Young might face plenty of backlash for that.

For starters, the NBA also features a team from Canada, and there are rumors about a potential expansion to Mexico.

Also, some of the best players this game has ever seen weren’t American-born, and that’s perfectly fine.
