Despite complications, Bayern Munich still aiming to bring in Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah, View Reasons …

Bayer Leverkusen and German national team center-back Jonathan Tah still has his heart set on a transfer to Bayern Munich, but talks between the clubs continue to be complicated.

Negotiations are ongoing with both Tah and the Bavarians eager to make a transfer happen per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg:

FC Bayern, still working on a transfer of Jonathan #Tah as Max Eberl and Vincent Kompany want him!

▫️FC Bayern and Leverkusen in regular contact about the the transfer fee. Normal course of negotiations. Nothing has changed despite other reports

▫️Tah made clear that he wants to join Bayern now. He has no plans to extend his contract!

Tah and Bayern, optimistic to get the deal done and sealed this transfer window. Contract until 2029 is ready to sign.

The gap between Bayern and Leverkusen’s price valuation for Jonathan Tah seems to be unbridgeable. Bayern’s initial bid of around €18m was rejected. After Waldemar Anton rejected Leverkusen and decided to join Dortmund, the German champions will remain firm in their position regarding Tah. The board of Bayer has decided that Tah will not be sold to Bayern for less than €40m even if it means losing him for free next year. Leverkusen are also offering Tah a new deal that would make him the team’s highest earner with €8m/year.
