I watched Rangers horror show and felt sorry for Steven Davis but new manager will soon suss flops out – Kenny Miller
In his most recent Sunday Mail piece, the former Ibrox striker shared his opinions on the turmoil gripping his old team.
The former Ibrox striker recently gave his thoughts on the crisis engulfing his former team in a Sunday Mail article.
I thus anticipated that the players would have displayed some sense of self-worth in support of him. I was hoping to witness passion and desire. That may sound outdated and like dinosaur lingo at this point. Running about and tackling, though, still have a lot of importance. It demonstrates your concern for the badge you are wearing. That stuff is important to me. And when I don’t see that, I get upset because as a player, that’s what I showed.
No matter what club I was at, whether I was excellent, poor, or indifferent, I always felt like I was offering a lot to the squad. I had the good fortune to play on numerous elite teams with outstanding players. I always thought I contributed everything I had for the cause. I believed it was the least the players could do for Davo on Thursday night with him in charge. But I simply didn’t see it.
Let’s face it, Aris don’t make a fantastic team. They are not a superpower in Europe. In Cyprus, they aren’t even a significant club. Therefore, it was an opportunity to save something for the team and give Davo a game to be proud of in the dugout. But many of the qualities I’ve mentioned were absent. And that is before quality is even brought up. Playing well is difficult when you lack confidence.
But what about the other things? That ought to be assumed. The idea that certain players’ jerseys are overly heavy is one that is frequently utilized in the Rangers community. That has a lot of substance, in my opinion. And right now, it appears to be a little too much for many of the guys in that locker room. Not simply the new males are what I mean.
They have a large group and have been frequenting the club for a while. They have to bear some responsibility for what they stand for. After what happened to Michael Beale and with Steven being put in this difficult situation at the time, something had to be done. However, we didn’t get it. It was, in fact, a step farther down the wrong path.
Davo claimed he couldn’t criticize the players for their effort after the game. He had to say that, though. He would never throw them under the bus. He is not that. And he will have believed that he had no right to object. But in the end, it wasn’t accurate. He COULD have pressed the guys for a lot more. Therefore, he will be devastated within. He was the one who had to perform out front.
And Davo is a proud man in his career. Every quality I’ve listed was present when he played. Forget his talent. Grafting was done by him. Because of this, he is still active at age 38 and holds the British record for the highest salary for an outfielder. There will be claims that the current Rangers team doesn’t give a damn.
that they are aware Steven and Alex Rae won’t be working there for much longer and a new employee with a fresh start will take their place. But what about that? They will shortly be identified by whoever is appointed manager. They were HIS players at least while Michael was in control. They let him down after he invited them in. When the following guy enters, though? They will have to earn their spot at Ibrox because they are not his signings.
Davo will be stung by the way they lost in Cyprus, especially as they prepare for today’s league match against St. Mirren, which will be extremely difficult. I’ll be direct. Rangers will lose points if they aren’t fully committed or present in Paisley today. They’ll need to battle if they want to defeat this Stephen Robinson team. The points won’t be handed to them; they must earn them.
A squad that works well as a unit, St Mirren is prepared to fight for every ball. Supporters will be afraid to go there this afternoon because of this. They’ll attend more games in the hopes of defeating St. Mirren. It’s a bad situation, really. Fans do, however, have a legitimate concern that they may lose more league points.
They’ll arrive in Paisley really concerned about losing. While the Rangers have now suffered three losses, the Saints remain unbeaten. Furthermore, no Rangers fan should ever be afraid to attend a matchup with St. Mirren. Please let them not have another setback. But if it does, the terrifying thing is that it won’t be at all unexpected for anyone who saw that display on Thursday night.
