Tottenham striker Richarlison has confirmed he will undergo pelvic surgery, another blow to the club and head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Spurs are already without Manor Solomon, Ivan Perisic and Ryan Sessegnon due to long-term injuries, while midfielder Micky van de Ven suffered a serious injury in Monday night’s defeat against Chelsea.

Speaking to ESPN Brasil after the match, Richarlison, who is an unused substitute, said he has worked hard to get back into shape and will go under the knife soon.
“The last few months have not been easy for me,” added Richarlison, with tears in his eyes. “I have health problems. I have told the doctors about it and soon I will have surgery. “I have been suffering for eight months, fighting for the national team and my club and not taking care of myself.
“I think it’s time to rest, to stop for a minute. I will think about it in the coming days and soon I will do what is best for me.

The game against Chelsea came hours after Brazilian manager Fernando Deniz left the 25-year-old out of the international team, and Richarlison said he understood the decision.
“I’m sorry I wasn’t invited but I understand Deniz,” he said. “In his place, I wouldn’t call myself – I don’t play good football, I’m below my strength.

“I’ve been good in the last few games. But I have to improve as I wear the national team uniform. “I have to play. I will feel good, I will be 100 percent otherwise, I think the manager made the right choice.

“You guys fly. So it’s up to me to keep working. I will be back. I don’t have a chance here. It’s up to me to work hard every day and get on the pitch here at Tottenham.

“I hope to play here (against Chelsea) in an important game, the derby. Yesterday I was told I wouldn’t play, but that’s part of football.”Every player wants to be played in the national team. Of course, I have hope but I think it’s time to rest.

Spurs will also be without Cristian Romero for the next three games after he was sent off at Chelsea, while Destiny Udogie will serve a one-match suspension against Wolves next Saturday.
James Maddison was substituted against the Blues with an ankle injury, although Postecoglou highlighted the seriousness of the situation afterwards. Richarlison’s loss will leave Spurs with four senior players, Heung-min Son, Brennan Johnson, Dejan Kulusevski and Bryan Gil, although Maddison or Giovani Lo Celso could step up if needed.
