Journalist says three groups interested in Everton investment, 777 Partners remain favourites

There are three groups currently interested in buying either Everton or a stake in the club, according to

journalist Paul Brown.

Everton-linked investors 777 Partners come under scrutiny in Germany - Liverpool Echo

As reported by BBC Sport earlier this year (22 May), MSP Sports Capital were set to invest in the Toffees, who require funding for their

new stadium that is currently being built on Bramley Moore Dock.

However, it was recently reported by The Athletic (23 August) that MSP had withdrawn from talks.

Brown has provided an update on the situation, stating that there remain a few groups interested in investing in the club.

“So, I understand there’s at least three groups currently trying to either buy or buy a stake in Everton. Some insiders at the club feel

that 777 are now the favourites to do a deal,” Brown told GIVEMESPORT (28 August).

“They’ve certainly been around longer than any of the other people currently showing an interest. But I understand there are doubts

about whether they can raise the money to do it. Everton need to find investment quickly to carry on making payments to the stadium contractor.”

Hope

Obviously, any talk at this point remains pure speculation until such time the club announce any deal that may occur.

That being said, it would obviously be a much-welcome boost for the Toffees, who are in the market for investment following the

reported collapse of talks with MSP.

Everton’s struggles on the pitch do not detract from the history and prestige of the club and as such they should remain an attractive

proposition for investors.

The reports that they are of interest to three separate groups, with 777 Partners emerging as favourites, suggests they are on the cusp

of finding a financial boost, and focusing their energies on addressing issues on the pitch.

Supporters will want a resolution to talk of investment in order to see their team fighting higher up the Premier League table again.

Caution should still be exercised, though, as deals of this nature can be fraught with complications.
