Leeds United transfer rumours as Whites linked with Uruguayan left-back
A look at the latest Leeds United transfer rumours
Leeds United linked with Marcelo Bielsa left-back
Brazilian journalist Diego Firmino claims Leeds United are interested in signing Uruguayan left-back Joaquin Piquerez this summer. The 24-year-old currently plays for Palmeiras in the Brazilian Serie A and has been capped nine times by his country.
The most recent of those came under the tutorage of former Whites boss Marcelo Biel sa. There’s been no fee yet quoted in relation to Piquerez and how much it would take to lure him to Elland Road.
The Whites have also been linked with a move for Thorp Arch academy graduate Charlie Taylor who’s currently with Burnley in the Premier League. Leeds were also linked with a move for free agent Ryan Manning but he’s just signed a four-year deal with Southampton.
Junior Firpo is expected to leave Elland Road this summer but has reported back for training.
What Sory Kaba previously said on his future amid ‘transfer interest’ from Leeds United
Sory Kaba has previously admitted that his dream was to play in England, which could boost Leeds United’s chances of landing the striker this summer.
The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Cardiff City and proved a huge hit in South Wales, helping the Bluebirds stay up and becoming a real fan-favourite as he netted eight goals in 17 appearances. That included a spectacular overhead kick in a victory over Watford.
Now reports in Spain claim that Leeds are one of five Championship clubs who are interested in signing the Guinea international, who has just a year left on his contract at FC Midtjylland. Cardiff are said to be one of the other clubs interested, though their pursuit is complicated by the fact that only a loan move would be possible for them due to a transfer embargo for being late with an instalment for the Emiliano Sala transfer.
The reports in Spain claim that La Liga outfit UD Las Palmas have already made an offer and that the former Elche player is also open to a return to Spain. However, no agreement is in place yet, and if Kaba’s previous comments are anything to go by then there is no reason Leeds couldn’t steal in and convince Kaba on the move to Elland Road.
