Leeds boss Daniel Farke gives Sinsterra exit verdict after ‘complicated’ deadline day exit
Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has praised Luis Sinistera’s ability and claimed the club tried to hold on to him before his “complicated” deadline-day move tor Bournemouth.
Following Leeds’ 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday on 2 September, Farke was asked for his view on the departure of one of his key players, as he admitted the exit was something the club will have to accept.
Sinisterra’s contract situation has been labelled as “complicated” by Farke, as the winger reportedly had a loan release clause in his deal following Leeds’ relegation from the Championship, with the Premier League side allowed to swoop.
Speaking after the draw with Sheffield Wednesday, as shared by Phil Hay on Twitter, Farke said: “I’m always open. I praised Luis since my arriving, what a player he is. If I told you I was happy he was away, no one would believe this.
“We tried. His contractual situation was complicated. We have to accept he went this way.”

Sinisterra moved to Premier League side Bournemouth on a season-long loan, which also saw winger Jaidon Anthony move in the opposite direction. His arrival at Elland Road as a makeweight in the deal will have provided some respite, but it will be difficult to replace the Colombian

His contract situation made his exit almost inevitable, with Premier League sides circling, and Leeds were eventually forced to resign to the fact they would be losing one of their star players right at the end of the transfer window, despite hopes of clinging on.
The club were able to hang on to both Wilfried Gnonto and Crysencio Summerville and hoped for Sinisterra to stay as well, but the key difference was the contract situation which they have been struggling to get a hold of all summer.
In the 0-0 draw with Sheffield Wednesday, there is no doubt that Sinisterra could have offered something different to the options that were out on the pitch. This is the harsh reality Leeds and Farke will have to deal with this season. They cannot afford to dwell on the past but must deal with these issues themselves.
