Liverpool travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea this weekend and that offers a gratifying diversion from the transfer updates, as the team initiates a season with aspirations for eventual success, ideally leading to a second Premier League title.

Jurgen Klopp will stick to the 4-3-3 formation and is expected to deploy a strong starting XI for this contest. Diogo Jota will lead the line up top while Dominik Szoboszlai and Alex Mac Allister make their competitive debut in the midfield

Alisson Becker is a guaranteed starter in between the sticks for the Reds. Klopp will again ask Ibrahima Konate to form a customary centre-half partnership with Virgil Van Dijk at the heart of Liverpool‘s backline as they try to keep the opposition frustrated throughout the 90 minutes.

Harvey Elliot will be named on the bench and might influence the game in the second half if Klopp decides to call upon his services.

Attack

Luis Diaz will operate as the left-sided wide player, while Mohamed Salah hopes to be productive on the right flank.

As mentioned earlier, Diogo Jota will lead the charge for the Merseyside club in the final third. The Portuguese forward has to find a way to cause a few headaches for the opposition defenders.
