Key striker and new Barcelona loan star sighted in training ahead of Man United is a major injury boost for Brighton.
Brighton & Hove Albion continue to get ready for this Saturday’s match against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
When Brighton visits Manchester United on Saturday at 3 p.m., they will be looking to build on their promising start to the current Premier League campaign.
With three victories and one defeat from their first four matches in the first division, Roberto De Zerbi’s team is sixth in the infant league standings.
They defeated Newcastle 3-1 in their previous match at the American Express Stadium, and they are in good spirits as they head to 11th-placed Manchester United, who have won two and lost two of their first four games.
De Zerbi does, however, have injury and selection issues because adolescent attacker Evan Ferguson was compelled to miss Ireland’s most recent games due to a painful knee. The Newcastle hero who scored three goals will try to make it in time to play Erik ten Hag’s Red Devils. Danny Welbeck, a former United striker, missed the game against Newcastle due to a “minor issue” and is looking forward to playing against them again. Ansu Fati and Carlos Baleba, two newcomers to Brighton, will also be competing for playing time.

Man United ‘monitoring’ Evan Ferguson, who could move clubs next year
Man United have eyes on Evan Ferguson, who could be available for transfer next summer.
Manchester United Football Club have made one big-money striker signing this summer in the form of Rasmus Hojlund.
The young forward has looked good in small glimpses so far, though he will now be given a real run in the team following injury.
The Old Trafford side should never settle. Hence, a move to bring in another striker next summer is among the ‘significant signings’ targeted. The Reds also intend to strengthen at full-back, centre-back and central midfield. That’s according to the Manchester Evening News.
In the striker department, Evan Ferguson is among the names being eyed. According to the report, United are ‘monitoring’ the talented Premier League striker, who has looked good for Brighton recently.
There is a belief that Ferguson ‘could be transferred’ next summer, though he did recently sign a contract until 2028 to protect his value. With that in mind, coupled with Brighton’s tough negotiation tactics, the Red Devils will have to cough up pretty handsome money to get a deal done.
Ferguson looks tailor-made to play for United. He fits the profile and word on the street is that he’s a massive Reds fan. If there’s one club he’d love to move to in future, it’s the 20-time Premier League champions.
A lot can change between now and then, though patience is running thin with Anthony Martial. There’s a belief the could ‘could
release’ the Frenchman if his stagnation continues. That could be the opening the club need to go out there and bring in Ferguson.
Although by that point, this will likely be another £100m signing, it’s one that offers longevity.
It’ll be interesting to watch Ferguson closely as Brighton visit Old Trafford this coming Saturday.
