OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: The Phillies have a stellar roster of players who will reach…

Fans of each of the 32 Major League Baseball clubs look forward to the start of a new baseball season. Fans of the Philadelphia Phillies are no different, as they want to see the team have another strong season and get to the postseason for the third time in a row.

Watching players reach major career milestones and, like Michael Lorenzen did last year when he pitched a no-hitter, make history with an exceptional performance is one of the best things about being a baseball fan. Baseball is one of the few sports that has such a strong relationship with cumulative statistical markers.

A few other Phillies reached career milestones in addition to Lorenzen’s no-hitter from the previous season. Only eight pitchers in Major League Baseball history have accumulated 400 career saves, a feat that former relief pitcher Craig Kimbrel achieved on May 26.

Bryce Harper became one of 158 active and retired players to smash his 300th career home run on August 30 when he did so off Matt Moore of the Los Angeles Angels. Watching Harper hit his 400th home run in a few seasons will undoubtedly be exciting.
