OFFICIAL DEPRESSING NEWS: Miami Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel is expected to miss 7 games because of…

Despite the Miami Dolphins offense scoring just seven points, coach Mike McDaniel refused to hold quarterback Tua Tagovailoa accountable for the team’s playoff loss at Kansas City on Saturday.

“Everyone needs to improve,” McDaniel declared following the Chiefs’ 26-7 Wild Card loss. None of the players are being blamed. A few excellent plays. A few poor performances. A few wise decisions. A few calls that need to be returned. Seven points is not enough for this unit. We must continue to study and strive to advance.

The injury-ravaged Dolphins(11-7) did not resemble the explosive offense that set a league record for yards.

The Dolphins finished with 264 yards overall, wide receiver Tyreek Hill had a 53-yard touchdown reception but was generally shut down in his return to Kansas City, and Tagovailoa was continuously pushed by the NFL’s second-ranked defense.

The quarterback, who was born in Hawaii, only completed 20 of 39 throws for 199 yards, including one interception and one touchdown.
The Dolphins have not prevailed in a postseason game since December 30, 2000, or at Arrowhead Stadium since November 6, 2011.

“The entire weather is a little bit different than it is down in Miami,” Reid remarked.

Without taking into account their three Super Bowl victories that earned them two Lombardi Trophies, the Chiefs have now won 15 straight home playoff games. However, if the Bills defeat the Steelers on Monday in a game that was postponed due to a snowstorm, they will travel to Buffalo the following week. If not, Houston, which defeated the Browns earlier on Saturday, will host the Chiefs.

With a temperature of minus four degrees Fahrenheit (below twenty degrees Celsius) at kickoff, Arrowhead Stadium’s coldest game record was easily broken. But what really made the weather awful for most people were the wind gusts, which came through at over 25 mph and dropped the temperature to a bone-rattling minus-27 degrees.

Pop sensation Taylor Swift was among them, as she showed up to see her boyfriend, Travis Kelce of the Chiefs, once more.

She was able to observe from a closed-off suite, at least. The athletes clustered around heaters on the sidelines, seemingly an oasis in the bitter cold, while the majority of supporters huddled outside in parkas, ski goggles, and snow trousers. The Midwest was hit by “dangerously cold” weather, according to the National Weather Service, which issued a warning.

In fact, Mahomes’ helmet may have been so fragile from the cold that a hit during the third quarter broke off a piece of the plastic shell. Officials forced Mahomes to retrieve a second helmet from the bench after noticing the fist-sized hole.

“We need to discuss the backup’s storage location,” Mahomes stated. “It seemed to be frozen.”

Hill, who was playing in Kansas City for the first time since being traded by his former team to Miami two years ago, didn’t seem to be bothered by the weather. Midway through the first half, the top receiver in the league warmed up in a short-sleeved shirt before scorching the Chiefs defense and All-Pro cornerback Trent McDuffie for a long touchdown reception.

However, the offense of the Dolphins was ineffective elsewhere, just like it was in their November 21-14 loss to the Chiefs in Germany.
