The National Football League announced on Monday that Eyioma Uwazurike, a defensive end with the Denver Broncos, will miss the entire 2017 season due to his penalty from betting on sports the previous season.

According to the NFL, Uwazurike received an indefinite suspension for breaking the league’s gambling regulations by making wagers on games.

According to a league statement, Uwazurike would not be able to submit an application to be reinstated until as soon as July 24, 2024.

After being selected with the 116th overall pick in the fourth round of the draft, Uwazurike, 25, made eight appearances for the Broncos in his rookie campaign last year.

Uwazurike is just one of many NFL players who have been suspended lately for violating the league’s rigorous regulations prohibiting players from gambling.

Along with free agent Demetrius Taylor, the Indianapolis duo of Isaiah Rodgers and Rashod Berry were suspended last month.

In April, a member of the Washington Commanders and four Detroit Lions players were suspended.
