The Chicago Bears will research the free agency situations of opposing teams in order to determine which players will be available in the offseason. The Houston Texans are one team that is rebuilding at a quicker pace but will still be making roster changes. Which Texans players are likely to be open to free agency this offseason?

3. The Houston Texans offer a wealth of offensive line options that the Chicago Bears can utilize.
This offseason, the Chicago Bears must continue to bolster their offensive line. The Texans will eventually see one of their many choices become a free agent.

In addition to his 2,342 snaps at left tackle and 2,150 snaps at right tackle over his career, George Fant played 962 snaps at right tackle last season. He is far more qualified than Larry Borom to be the swing tackle option.

The Arizona Cardinals selected Josh Jones in the third round in 2020. Despite his lack of success with the Texans and Cardinals, he will only be 27 this offseason. In addition to the 63 left guard snaps from the previous season, Jones has 767 left tackle, 612 right guard, 257 right tackle, and 63 left guard snaps.

Overall, his versatility, youth, athletic potential, and draft pedigree make him worthy of a flier this offseason.

This offseason, Michael Deiter might be the player to keep an eye on. When he was a Miami Dolphins third-round pick, he began his career as a guard. He did, however, receive 546 snaps at center in 2021 and up to 766 snaps in 2023.

He has 1,312 center snaps, 980 left guard snaps, and 50 left tackle snaps. At just 27 years old, he has recently finished one of his best years to date in his career. Could he close the enormous center-field gap for the Chicago Bears?

Lastly is Charlie Heck. Heck started four games at right tackle last year and has 1,316 snaps at right tackle for his career. He would mostly be a reserve, and he only has right-side experience, so this is not as desired as the others. Still, the Houston Texans are bringing a lot to the table in terms of free-agent offensive line options,
