Opening news: Five things to take away from the first news conference by the…

On Thursday, the Washington Commanders made their 2024 coaching staff public. Following the announcement, coordinators Joe Whitt Jr. (defense) and Kliff Kingsbury (offensive) met with the local media.

For Kingsbury, the quarterback position was a big topic. QBs like Baker Mayfield, Caleb Williams, the likely number one overall choice, Patrick Mahomes, Johnny Manziel, and Kyler Murray have all been coached by Kingsbury. Kingsbury gave little information as was to be expected on that score.

For me right now, it’s all about concentrating on that group and making the most of our individual strengths, staff coaching, and general excellence in that domain. Thus, to be

It would have been laughed at if Kingsbury had been hired as head coach once more. Still, Kingsbury and the Commanders will gain by being able to concentrate only on the offensive because a lot of his ideas are applied in both college and NFL football.
