Rebels QB Jaxson Dart Still Undecided On Future With Ole Miss In 2024 - The Grove Report – Sports Illustrated at Ole Miss

OXFORD, Miss. — The No. 11 Ole Miss Rebels are preparing for their NY6 matchup versus the No. 10 Penn State Nittany Lions in the

Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl on Dec. 30, but they have also been busy recruiting for the 2024 season. Half of that recruitment battle has

been on the home front, as the Rebels have recently secured commits from a plethora of veterans to return for another year of Ole

Miss football. Tight end Caden Prieskorn is among the seniors who recently announced that he would be returning for his final year of

eligibility, and he got to talk about his decision to return during his press availability on Monday. “I just feel like I had a really good

[fall] camp, and the injury kind of set me back,” Prieskorn told reporters. “With everything else that happened during the season, I just

feel like I needed a full year to be healthy and just show my full abilities.”

Prieskorn appeared in nine games this season after suffering an early injury, but still managed to haul in 20 passes for 313 yards and

two touchdowns. The former transfer is focused on beating Penn State, but talked about Ole Miss’ potential in 2024 and the

excitement around the program. “There’s definitely a lot [of excitement],” Prieskorn said. “It’s exciting, there’s definitely a lot of buzz

in this program. But as a team, we know we’ve got a job to do, and that’s go 11-2 for the first time in school history.” Prieskorn was

asked if he made his decision based on knowledge surrounding quarterback Jaxson Dart’s return, but just smiled and gave a

professional response. “It’s up to [Dart] to say that,” Prieskorn said. “I’d love for him to be my quarterback next year.”
