Perfect addition: Spurs agrees next transfer target once the completion of top star deals finalised, so far deal has….

Tottenham’s next transfer priorities once Micky van de Ven and Alejo Veliz deals finalised

Tottenham may be closing in on a couple of deals but there is still plenty left for Ange Postecoglou, Daniel Levy and the club to do in

the transfer market.

Tottenham handed monumental lift in Micky van de Ven chase following huge Fabrizio Romano update

Unable to add to Ange Postecoglou’s squad since the signing of Manor Solomon just over three weeks ago, Tottenham look set to burst

back into life in the transfer market ahead of the new season. Now only nine days away from their Premier League opener at

Brentford, the Spurs head coach may have some new options to consider for his matchday squad.

In desperate need of a new centre-back after their defensive woes last term, Wolfsburg ace Micky van de Ven looks on course to move

to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in a reported £43million deal including add-ons. Excelling for the Bundesliga side since his move

from Volendam two years ago, the centre-back has all the attributes required to be a big hit in Postecoglou’s Spurs XI.

The Netherlands Under-21 international could soon be joined at the club by Rosario Central striker Alejo Veliz. The young Argentine

striker has made quite the impression since making his debut for Canalla and he has been tipped for big things in his career.

Very much a player for the future, Veliz, who will cost £13million, could turn out to be a smart acquisition from the football club as

they plan for the coming years. So what else do Tottenham need to do in the transfer market once Van de Ven and Veliz sign on the

dotted line? football.london takes a look below.

Add to centre-back options

Once Van de Ven is through the door, Tottenham still need to add to their defensive options ahead of the new season. Defence is very

much a priority in the transfer market for the Lilywhites as the position needs to be overhauled due to their struggles there last term

that proved very costly indeed in the race for European football.

Another defensive incoming looks set to be Ashley Phillips from Blackburn Rovers. Appearing on course to join Tottenham last month,

with the club planning to fly him out for the second half of their pre-season tour of Asia, the deal hit a stumbling block as the

Championship side asked for a hefty amount in add-ons that raised the fee considerably.

As a £2m release clause in his contract becomes active on Friday, Tottenham look set to finally get their man. Only making his senior

debut for the Lancashire club last season, Phillips is another who is very much viewed as one for the future and he could potentially

turn out to be a transfer bargain.

Spurs may also further enhance their defensive options by making a move for another centre-back. Fulham’s Tosin Adarabioyo is a

player of interest to Tottenham and football.london reported on Tuesday that Spurs are expected to launch a bid for him.

The ex-Man City youngster is now in the final year of his deal at Craven Cottage, meaning Tottenham could potentially strike a very

good deal for the talented centre-back who has all the attributes to excel under Postecoglou. Another bonus to moving for the player is

that he is classed as homegrown, something that Spurs have struggled with in the past due to the amount of non-homegrown players

at the club.

Ensure Kane remains at the club

The big talking point surrounding Tottenham Hotspur Football Club at present is the future of Harry Kane. The striker has been

tipped to leave this summer now that he is in the final year of his contract, with Bayern Munich intent on luring him to the Allianz

Arena.

football.london reported earlier in the week that the striker’s plan is to stay at Tottenham this summer if the club has not reached

an agreement with Bayern over a transfer deal before the Brentford game. It is believed that he does not want to disrupt Postecoglou’s

plans even further by leaving after the start of the season.

With nine days to go until the game at the Gtech Community Stadium, it is a crucial period coming up for the Lilywhites. Tottenham

fans will be keeping their fingers crossed that the 30-year-old is indeed the one to lead the team out in west London.
