Reporter close to Sullivan says West Ham will announce brilliant new signing today
READ MORE:
West Ham midfielder Flynn Downes is set to depart the club on loan to Southampton, it has been
reported by Ex WHU Employee.
The signing from Swansea last summer, who is also a huge fan of the club, has struggled for consistent game time
since his arrival and will head to the Championship club in a one year deal.
The midfielder though has impressed when called upon under David Moyes, with the manager even admitting he’s
not been overly keen to allow him to depart, but as reported previously by Ex WHU Employee it’s been part of
discussions surrounding our imminent capture of James Ward-Prowse.
It was first reported in May by Ex that Downes was being lined up as part of the package for the midfield target, with
our club insider and Podcast co-host reporting accurately again throughout.
The Southampton captain is set to secure his move to West Ham as early as tomorrow, with the deal reported by Ex
to now be almost complete, in what will be a huge boost to Moyes, with the player noted as a key target this summer.
Downes though is now set to go the other way and head to the south coast, with Ex stating the player has said his
goodbyes to his teammates ahead of the loan spell.
“Flynn Downes has said goodbye to his West Ham teammates,” reported Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.
“He is due to join Southampton on loan as we reported back in May.”
