Philippe Clement in Rangers January transfer update as he talks potential incomings and outgoings

Philippe Clement admits Rangers would play on Livingston 'PARKING LOT' if asked amid plastic pitches debate - Football Scotland

The Belgian boss will take the time over the next period to continually look at the players currently on the books as he hinted at potential arrivals next month but it needs to be the ‘right thing’.

Philippe Clement has opened up on Rangers’ January transfer plans.

Former boss Michael Beale overseen a huge summer recruitment drive with a large number of players coming in and out of the door. He has since been axed with the Belgian taking over and he says it is unfair to judge players on a six week period and they still have the time to prove themselves as the right bodies for the club and position on the park.

The Ibrox gaffer has hinted that ideally he will have some winter arrivals through the door to add to his Rangers ranks but concedes it needs to be the ‘right’ thing and that January is a much harder time to get deals done than the summer so he is realistic over the situation.

Speaking to the media, Clement said: “Reshaping it in January is much more difficult than in the summer, that’s the reality in football with every club so I’m realistic about that.

“The idea is to do something but it will not be a lot of things, it needs to be the right things.”

“Until January and even in January players have the time to prove themselves that they are the right men for the club and position. It’s an open battle in that way to show themselves.”
