Run It Back: TE Tyler Warren Announces Return to Penn State in 2024

The tight end room should remain amongst the nation’s best next season.

NCAA Football: Penn State at Maryland

With all of the (totally expected) NFL Draft announcements lately from several star players, Penn State fans got some more welcome news earlier tonight, when tight end Tyler Warren announced via his Instagram story that he would be returning to Happy Valley next season, his fifth year in the program.

Warren was third on the team this season in receptions and yards, with 29 of them for 295 yards, and was also the team leader in touchdown catches with seven of them. It goes without saying, but this absolutely huge for the tight end room, given that Theo Johnson recently announced he was heading to the NFL Draft. Losing both Tyler and Theo at the same time would have left a real void for somebody highly talented but less proven to have to step up and be the man. Now, with Warren’s announced return for one last go-around, there will be a clear number one guy to lead the tight end room next season and help prepare the next group of tight ends who will eventually step up and succeed him.

Welcome back, Tyler!
