Everton star’s future looks OVER as he issues scathing statement on boss Sean Dyche
Demarai Gray has taken to social media to express his frustration after not playing a single minute for Everton despite the Toffees
winless start to the Premier League season.
In response to rumours about Sean Dyche’s future, Demarai Grey has launched an unprecedented attack against the Everton manager.
The 27-year-old was in discussions about moving to Fulham, but nothing came of it before the transfer market closed. The Saudi Pro
League and Besiktas have both been mentioned as potential destinations for Grey.
Although the window has closed in England, clubs in Saudi Arabia and Turkey still have until September 15 and September 7,
respectively, to make signings. Al-Shabab have been mentioned as prospective suitors in addition to Besiktas, and Steven Gerrard’s Al-
Ettifaq are attempting to sign the Jamaican international.
Grey has gone to social media to vent his frustration despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, having not yet played a minute
under Sean Dyche this season. Grey actually made his final Toffees appearance against Bournemouth on the final day of the previous
season.
Alongside a picture of him walking towards a car, he said on his Instagram story: “Everton fans have always been great with me but it’s
so difficult to play for someone who don’t show you respect as a person.”
Dyche gave an update on Gray’s situation following Saturday’s 2-2 draw between Everton and Sheffield United and acknowledged that
he does anticipate Grey to remain at Goodison Park.
Explaining Gray’s absence, Dyche said: “It was a bit of everything – his fitness, his fitness to play in the side, the situation around him
and all of the noise.
“Hopefully over the next couple of weeks that will become clear and he will get himself fit as a starting point.”
When asked if he believed Grey would stay, Dyche responded, “I do at this time.”
After losing three games in a row to Fulham, Aston Villa, and Wolves before drawing at Bramall Lane, the Toffees have only earned
one point from their opening four Premier League games. In the process, they have scored twice, both of which occurred on Saturday.
“I just reminded them of the performance levels of the first half,” Dyche remarked of his team’s performance. At 1-0, we were in#
control but after that, we started to back off and play a little sloppily while waiting for things to happen—something we hadn’t done for
the first 30 minutes or so.
“I reminded them about that, about taking the game on again, taking it by the scruff of the neck, which we did do. I was really pleased
with the start to the second half, the energy, the quality, I think we kept it up more or less through the whole half, the way we were
dealing with it defensively, shifting the ball and getting it into key areas.
“Arguably, you want to score more because of the quality in the areas that we had and the play we had in the box…on the other hand,
in the madness of football you can end up losing it.”
As for Gray, it remains to be seen if he will still be part of the Everton squad for their next Premier League clash with Arsenal after the
international break.
