Report: PSG Denies Rumors of Possible Loan Departure for Hugo Ekitike

West Ham United transfer news as journalist reacts to PSG striker Hugo Ekitike links

West Ham perhaps moving for PSG striker Hugo Ekitike is something to look out for before the transfer window closes, according to James Nursery.

The Daily Mirror journalist reported on Sunday (27 August) that this was a deal worth keeping an eye on given the Hammers’ hunt for a new striker.

Gianluca Scamacca has left and Michail Antonio is also linked with a move away from the club so the 21-year-old French striker has been tipped to seal a London Stadium switch.

Nursery wrote on Twitter, “A few potential deals to look out for before transfer window shuts: Lucas
Ocampos to Fulham, Hugo Ekitiké to West Ham, even if AC Milan are trying him, & Davison Sánchez from Tottenham to Nottingham Forest.”

If despite the interest from AC Milan, the Hammers are being tipped to sign him, he perhaps fancies a move to London and the Premier League.

The Hammers have signed Mohammed Kudus, who can play as a striker but he’s predominantly an attacking midfielder so it makes sense to play him there.

They’ve sold Scamacca for decent money, despite making a loss on him, and Ekitike replacing him does make a whole lot of sense.

FootballTransfers reported on 22 August that it will cost £27million in order to sign the 21-year-old from PSG this summer.

That does not seem to be too much money and in hindsight, it may be a good move if he hits the ground running and becomes a success.

His value will only skyrocket in the coming years and that’ll ensure that the Hammers have a quality striker for years to come or make a significant profit from his sale.
