Manchester United is reportedly interested in Joao Gomes, according to a report from the Spanish publication Fichajes. The Red Devils are setting the stage for the 2024 transfer windows. And one of the key targets has emerged as the 22-year-old midfielder for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Joao Gomes joined Flamengo in 2009 at the age of eight and spent his formative years there. The Brazilian midfielder subsequently advanced through Flamengo’s divisions until making his professional debut in November 2020 at the age of 19. After that, he had successful seasons in 2021 and 2022.

A number of teams in Europe were interested in Gomes as a result of his development at Flamengo. The 22-year-old was unexpectedly signed by Wolverhampton Wanderers in the January transfer window, outbidding their rivals. Since then, the young player has established himself as a regular, having started each Premier League game so far this season.
